The Dell /Alienware G05YJ battery is only compatible with the Alienware M14, M14X R3 and R4 series laptops. This battery is not the correct battery for the M14x R1 or R2 models (revision 1 or 2). This is an internal battery and you will need to unscrew the back laptop case in order to install the new battery. A small phillips head screwdriver is all you will need to open up the case.
