The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon battery is located inside the laptop. To remove the battery, unscrew the 7 small Phillips-head screws near the keyboard. Disconnect the ribbon cable connecting the battery to the computer. Reinstall the new battery by connecting the ribbon cable and reinstalling the keyboard cover.
